Glassware: Hurricane
Mixing Method: Shake and Strain
Ingredients:
3/4 oz. Dark Rum
3/4 oz. Light Rum
2 oz. Sour Mix
Fill w/ Passion Fruit Juice1 – about 4 oz. (Hawaiian Punch will work*)
1/2 oz. Grenadine
Garnish: Cherry and Orange Wheel (Butterfly or Flag)
Hurricane (More Complex Version)
Glassware: Hurricane Glass or Over-sized Snifter (w/ Ice)
Method: Shake and Strain
2 oz. White Rum
2 oz. Dark Rum
1 oz. Lime Juice
1 oz. Orange Juice
2 oz. Passion Fruit Juice
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. Grenadine
Garnish: Cherry and Orange Wheel (Butterfly or Flag)
* If you want to make a super potent Hurricane you can skip the Passion Fruit Juice (and Hawaiian Punch) and build a “Hawaiian Punch Shooter” as the “juice”.
Ingredients to Hawaiian Punch Shooter (below)
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 oz Southern Comfort
1/2 oz Sloe Gin
1/2 oz Orange Juice
1/2 oz Amaretto

- PASSION FRUIT JUICE: The Bartending School Versions out there are leaving out the Passion Fruit Juice entirely, but doing so makes this drink short and it won’t fill the Hurricane Glass which is 16 oz, whereas House Specialty glasses (which are shorter looking versions of Hurricane glasses) are usually 10 oz.
