Caipirinha

Muddle in a mixing glass limes and cane sugar, next add ice, shake and top with soda water (or sprite if you like it sweeter)

  1. Table spoon sugar
  2. 6 lime wedges
  3. 1 oz. Cachaca Brazilian liquor
  4. Soda water
  5. Splash sweet & sour (optional)
  6. shake

The Brazilian term caipira refers to a person from the countryside or hillbilly, this is the working mans drink of Brazil. It can also be made with fresh fruits such as oranges , pineapple and even chilies. This is rum made from fermented sugar cane juice which is then distilled, unlike rum which is also made from sugar cane that is first turned into molasses and then distilled.
