SINGAPORE SLING by Ngiam Tong Boon (Long Bar – Raffles Singapore – Raffles Hotels & Resorts. First created in 1915) Widely regarded as the national drink. by Raffles bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. Primarily a gin-based cocktail
NOTE: There is another popular version, less sweet, more of a sip-able by the pool long drink.
GLASSWARE: Hurricane / Lg. Specialty METHOD: Shake and Strain
INGREDIENTS:1 1/2 oz. Lime Juice (15 ml) 1/2 oz. Peter Heering (Cherry Brndy) (15 ml) Dash Angostura Bitters 5 oz. Pineapple Juice (120 ml)2 1 1/4 oz. Gin (30 ml) 1/3 oz. Grenadine (10 ml) 1/4 oz. Bénédictine DOM (7.5 ml) 1/4 oz. Cointreau (7.5 ml)
5 oz – most recipes in the USA translate this to 4 oz, but this is wrong. 30 ml is 1.2 oz, thus 120 ml 4.8 oz, which is clearly closer to 5 oz than 4 oz.[↩]
